Frequently Asked Questions

A.

We understand that the loss of a pet is a hard time, and although we hope that we have answered many questions, you may have more. Here we will answer some regularly asked questions about our services.

Q. What Are The Options For My Pet?

A. When you lose your pet, expectedly or not, it is an upsetting time. There are a few options that you can choose from when the time comes.

You can choose an individual cremation. This is the service that we offer at Heaven’s Gate. Every one of our cremations is individual, which means that you can be sure that your pet is taken care off and if you choose to receive the ashes, you can be certain those ashes will only be our pets.

If your pet is put to sleep at the vets, then they will often offer a cremation service themselves. This is your choice, you can allow the vets to perform the cremation, or you can inform them that Heaven’s Gate will collect. You also are able to take your pet home for you to make the choice from there.

Home burial is also an option for you and your pet. You can bury your pet in surroundings that you choose from the comfort of your own home.

Q. Where Can I Scatter My Pets Ashes?

A. When you have your pet cremated, you can choose to have the ashes returned to you. Many people will choose to scatter the ashes in their pets favourite place, at home or a favourite walk.

Q. What If I Don’t Want To Scatter The Ashes?

A. You don’t have to scatter the ashes, you can keep the ashes in an urn or memorial casket. You can choose to bury this urn if that is what you want to do. Some people will even choose to keep the ashes in an urn or casket and request for them to be buried cremated with their pets ashes when their own time comes.

Q. How Long Will It Take To Cremate My Pet?

A. The time it takes to cremate your pet will depend on the size of your pet. We never hurry a cremation but in general cremations will normally take between 1 and 3 hours.

Q. Can I Attend My Pets Cremation?

A. If you wanted to attend your pets cremation this is perfectly fine. Please let us know and we can help you arrange this.

We do have a Pet Chapel Of Rest for you to make your final goodbyes where you can be comfortable and spend time before the cremation.

Q. Can I Bring My Pet To Heaven’s Gate?

A. Of course. Please call us to arrange the time so that we can respect the privacy of any other clients we may have that day, but it is always acceptable for you to deliver your pet to us.

Q. Can Heaven’s Gate Collect From My Vets Practice?

A. If you would like us to collect your pet from the vets practice, then simply ask your vet if they can arrange this for you, most vets will not mind you asking.

Q. Do I Have To Wait For My Pets Passing Before Making Arrangements?

A. We would recommend thinking about your options before the time comes. There are a lot of options for you to choose after your pets passing, and it is an already a tough time for you, so talking your options through before allows you time to think.

We offer a full service, which means you can talk to us about your options and even set up a payment plan to spread the cost before the time comes.

A. Please see below to size your pet. If you are still unsure, please call us to clarify.

Q. What Happens If My Pet Dies At The Weekend Or In The Evening?

You may ask us to collect that same evening, or the following morning if you prefer some time to make your goodbyes. There may be extra charges for these services, so please check our pricing page for this information.

Q. When Will I Have To Pay For My Pet’s Cremation?
